Kunstart: Malerei
Technik: Mischtechnik
Stil: Abstrakt

Vita / Lebenslauf:
Born and raised in Colombia, Alejandro is a multi-instrumentalist who writes and produces a wide range of music, singing in English and Spanish. He is often compared to David Bowie, Brian Eno, Nine Inch Nails, NIck Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Flaming Lips meet The Jesus and Mary Chain with the attitude of early British punk (Stranglers/Clash). In the 80's he produced the Internationally syndicated radio series "Playing it By Ear", and that influence still permeates his music, adding the more theatrical elements to the darker pieces.

Alejandro began his art studies at the David Manzur Academy in Santa Fé de Bogotá, Colombia in 1972. For the last 24 years the artist has studied and worked in the Western New York area. He graduated from the State University of New York College at Fredonia , and the SUNY Buffalo Law School. He is President of the Board of the Western New York Artists Group.

Alejandro has spent his life exploring the seemingly coincidental occurrences that lock a chain of events together into a new something. He has pursued his calling since he was six years old, when he would scrounge around the basement garage of his apartment building for paints, oils and wood. There began the magical alchemy. He would burn, scrape, mix and mangle whatever he could get his hands on ... whether visual, sonic or textural.

Experimenting in the darkroom he discovered the "controlled accident", of how so many times seemingly accidental procedures bring forth an artistic result. That became his process. He was thrilled by the raw yet delicate balance between the forces of change, of the unstopped creative flow. It wasn't about picturing, but about expression..
